Why did this one sell?
  • [Jeremy confirmed the sale but declined to comment on any other aspect of it].
  • [Frank] You can't be built out. That's very appealing. The house certainly faces the right way - we enjoy the late afternoon sun. Also, the Como Oval is one of Melbourne's best-kept secrets.
Who is the buyer?
  • Titles documents show buyers Helen and Radek Sali lodged a caveat on the property.
What did you think it would go for?
  • [Frank] We have a confidentiality clause.
What was surprising about it?
  • In December 2004, Frank transferred the property to Sharon's name for a fee he listed as 'Love and affection' in the Transfer of Land document. Frank paid $354,000 for the site in June 1997 and they subsequently built on the 969 square metre site.
What will you do now?
  • [Frank] As far as Sharon and I are concerned, we will be on the hunt. We love building. We'll be finishing the Stokehouse restaurant [razed by fire in January 2014] in about three months, we will open and we think that creates new opportunities.
    We are staying in Melbourne, but we also like the idea of sunshine and getting a house on the Sunshine Coast.
